What is love?
An emotion, a thought or an action.
Something you feel or something you do?
For me I was taught its an action
Its about what your giving...
and who you're giving it to.
Love is a long trip to the ER
Even if it's probably just the flu.
Love is combing her hair,
painting her nails...
seeing the gift she is to you.
Love is explaining her mirror was built
so she could she an angel too.
Love is checking the blanket
turning on the fan,
or straightening the wrinkled sheet...
Love is knowing next to her
sleep is so beautifully sweet.
Love is dressing room benches
"You look amazing -
Really - I swear... its true."
Love is knowing because of what you feel
She's bringing the best out of you.
Love can soft, tender or fierce...
Or like being shot in the chest
Searing bullet -- straight through.
Love reveals why you are here...
Your purpose
what's been entrusted to you.
This beautiful girl...
Love is to protect her
tell her nothing that is not true.
Love is why,
she'll be thrown aside
Insisting that death first takes you.
